Owner's Representation

Professional construction guidance for owners and builders.

Claus Consulting is an independent owner's rep — not a general contractor. We work on your side of the table, protecting your schedule, your quality, and your peace of mind from the first bid to the final walk‑through.

Every construction project — from a single‑family renovation to a multi‑million dollar build — turns on the same handful of decisions: who you hire, what you agree to, how the work is supervised, and how problems get resolved when they inevitably show up on site. Most owners and many general contractors face those decisions without a dedicated advocate looking out solely for the project's interests. That is the gap Claus Consulting was built to fill.

We are owner's representatives. Our job is straightforward: represent you. We don't self‑perform work, hold trades on payroll, or take kickbacks from suppliers. There are no markups buried in change orders, no preferred subs we are quietly pushing, and no incentive to drag a project out past its end date. The only thing we sell is judgment — earned over years of walking sites, reading drawings, comparing bids, and watching how good projects stay good and how troubled ones unravel.

For general contractors, we operate as an extension of your team when you need bandwidth or a second set of eyes. That might mean running day‑to‑day project management on a job that's stretching your office, putting a qualified site superintendent on the ground during a critical phase, sourcing and vetting subcontractors, or producing apples‑to‑apples bid comparisons so your estimating team can make decisions quickly and confidently.

For homeowners, we act as a knowledgeable partner from the first conversation about scope through the final punch list. We help you find and qualify the right general contractor, translate the bids you receive, advise on product and finish selections, walk the site to verify quality, and step in when change orders or disputes need a calm, experienced voice in the room. Most people build a home once or twice in a lifetime; we help you do it without learning the hard lessons firsthand.

What ties both sides of the practice together is independence. We are not bidding on your project, not subcontracting any portion of it, and not earning commissions on the materials you choose. That separation is the entire reason we exist — and it is what allows us to give you advice you can actually trust.
